Gonda: The Communist Party of India (Marxist), Uttar Pradesh Central Region, has begun a two-day training programme for district committee members representing 17 districts. The programme is being held at Suvastu Lawn in Gonda city.
The training camp was presided over by Comrades Madhu Garg and Jarnail Singh. On the first day, former Politburo member and former MP Comrade Subhashini Ali addressed participants on the theme of “Communal Hindutva Politics and the Question of Caste”.
Ali said communalism had no connection with religion and was instead a political instrument historically used by the British to keep India divided and under colonial rule. Referring to the freedom movement, she spoke about the formation of the Muslim League and subsequently the Hindu Mahasabha, noting that some prominent Congress leaders who described themselves as secular were also associated with the latter.
She argued that contemporary communal politics advocates an aggressive form of Hindutva that seeks to establish a system based on exploitation and inequality rather than upholding Hindu religious beliefs. She alleged that this ideology targets minorities as well as Dalits and poses a threat to the Constitution framed under the leadership of Dr B.R. Ambedkar.

Calling for efforts to safeguard the country and democracy, Ali urged participants to oppose communal and anti-national forces.
The second session was addressed by state committee member Comrade Ravishankar Mishra.
Among those attending the programme were Veena Gupta, Rajiv Shant, Suman Singh, Vandana Rai, Maya Devi, K.K. Chaturvedi, Kaushalendra Pandey, Amit Shukla, Ashish Singh, Yogendra Verma, Krishna Kumar Maurya, Vishram Singh, Ashok Kumar, Shyamlal Sharma, Kamalakant and J.B. Yadav. Representatives from Lucknow, Bareilly, Etawah, Ayodhya, Jalaun, Bahraich, Sant Kabir Nagar, Kanpur, Gonda and Basti, among other districts, participated in the training.
